Cabarete Kiteboarding World Cup 2010
From June 16-20, Cabarete was once again the host for the Kiteboarding World Cup. Beautiful caribbean weather and good consistent wind made sure that we could see an amazing event full of action. More than 20 nationalities made their way to Cabarete to test their skills against the world’s best kiteboarders and agains some of the very good local riders.
The two „Dutchies“ Kevin Langree and Youri Zoon showed amazing action and technical tricks but in the end local hero Ariel Cornel could win the event in an exciting final vs. Kevin Langree. Ariel nearly landed all his tricks, had a bit more power and execution in his tricks then Kevin and could claim the title. A large crowd of Dominican’s rushed to greet Corniel on the beach, lifting him in the air, carrying him like a king. Corniel is the second professional rider to ever win a second title here in Cabarete, once in 2007 and 2010. Congratualtions!!

27 Waterfalls of Damajagua
May 6th - Together with some of our guests we went on a day trip to the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua. We left early in the morning to be the first group hiking up the mountain towards the waterfalls. After crossing the beautiful river we hiked through the forest until we reached the first spectacular waterfall. Our funny guide Chichi was in his best mood and excited to show us every detail of his daily route. With a mix of climbing, sliding, jumping and swimming through all the 27 waterfalls we reached the top and enjoyed a little break in the sun. Chichi was going crazy and taking the biggest jumps on the way down and of course some of us followed-). Big thanks to our guide. He was really special and we all had an amazing trip!

Time for some maintenance
After a great and busy high season its time for some maintenance here at Hooked. Together with our handy gardener Carlos we started painting apartments and fixing some little things to be ready for the next busy periode. Our beautiful tropical garden gets greener and greener and the palm tress are growing fast. We are looking forward to a great windy season and lots of nice visitors-).0 Comments
